Don’t forget - tomorrow its - Welcome to “Whoville!” Join us for a FREE and family-friendly celebration on Friday, December 19, from 6pm-8pm at the Amherst Senior Center inspired by the beloved character, the Grinch! Visit with Santa, Mrs. Claus, and the Grinch. Enjoy indoor activities, a dance 🕺 party, face painting, cookie 🍪 decorating, hot cocoa ☕️ bar and more. Don't forget to wear your festive pajamas!
Plus, we will be collecting donations of new socks 🧦 and underwear to benefit local families in need. Holiday Happening is brought to you by the Town of Amherst, Amherst Youth and Recreation, Amherst Police Department, Amherst Center for Senior Services and Amherst Public Libraries.

Important information with regard to repair and construction work at the Great Baehre Conservation Area. Please see update below.

Please Note: Important information from the New York Department of Environmental Conservation - The Great Baehre Boardwalk along Hopkins Road will be closed starting Nov. 17, 2025 to complete construction repair work and will continue into early December 2025. The entirety of the boardwalk will be closed to public access during construction. Access will be closed from the south, along Hopkins Road, to the Town of Amherst’s Billy Wilson Park.

Please avoid these areas during construction repair work.
