2001 GMC Dump truck project we had in this winter. Did a complete restoration with no corners cut. It was a great project that was built to last.

Ended up repairing the Stahl tool boxes which included new bottoms, door skins, weather stripping and a fresh coat of paint inside and out.

Repaired weaken parts of the truck frame which was over all in good shape and coated it with POR-15.

Replaced worn leaf spring bushings and shackles

Repaired areas of the Dump bed and skinned the areas that had corrosion. Cut in new tail lights higher up so they would be more visible. Finally finished that off with powder coating to last.

Rebuilt the sub frame of the Dump bed which had the worst corrosion. New tubing, mounts and pins. Which was all powder coated.

Built new heavy duty fenders and had them powder coated.

And finally rerouted the fuel filler necks to be in one centralized location with a custom bracket and aluminum tubing.

Emergency repair to get this dump truck back on the road. This hydraulic tank wore through the bottom from a loose mount and constant vibration. We ended up completely removing the bottom and thoroughly cleaning any sludge that had built up over the years. For the new bottom we used a thicker piece of steel for a longer life and broke it twice corner to corner to create a low point for a drain. Lastly we redressed all the threaded fittings and added a shut off valve in the event of an emergency. A quick 5 hour turnaround for this job and had the truck back on the road the next day.

A fuel cell we fabricated for a 1950s boat. The original had suffered some corrosion and had a poor design for the feed port which caused some leaks. We took the crucial measurements off the old one then made some design tweaks to improve the fitment and got to work. Once we finish welded the tank we pressure tested it and made sure there were no leaks.

A set of ramps we modified this past week. Customer had difficulty loading his skid steer especially when the tires were muddy. To resolve this we trimmed the bottom section so the ramp would sit flat on the ground. Then we added some expanded metal to provide a flat surface and extra traction. Very happy with how these turned out.

A dump trailer came in for some modifications. First of which was a pintle hitch. Which was heavily reinforced to support the load capacity of the trailer. Second was beefing up the original spare tire carrier. The original one was only held up with two 1"-1/2 welds top and bottom which were know to crack over time. To address this we cleaned up and boxed in the original one. Then welded it all the way around insuring it will never break off for the life of the trailer. Next we added a ratcheting style load tarp. The tarp and all the components were purchased from Buyers but some custom brackets were needed to fit our project. Lastly we fabricated a couple mounts to hold a farm jack.

A couple bucket repairs, one more invasive than the other. The first smaller bucket was a quick weld repair which involved completely grinding out the cracked existing weld and running some weld over the new cleanly preped surface. The first bucket really shows the importance of using the correct filler material for the job. The attachment was orginally welded using either ER6010 or ER6011 which does not have the tensile strength to handle the abuse. After insuring all the ER6011 was ground out we ran some ER7018 over the preped surface guaranteeing no cracks in the future. The second bucket was chasing out cracks again and replacing a cracked blade. Counted a total of 23 cracks on this tired bucket which were all ground out and rewelded. Some reinforcement was added to the underside of the bucket to help reduce flex and save the new blade from cracking in the future. Both buckets came out great and we're grateful to help local contractors keep their equipment operational.

Cleaned up and welded shut a leaking heat exchanger. This is a good example of the importance of preparing the part before welding. This part came in covered in grime and packed with soot. A stainless steel part like this needs to be spotless before doing anything. Any contamination could compromise the weld. The part was soaked over night in our parts washer, then scrubbed throughly, and lastly finished with a bath of acetone to remove the degreaser. The weld areas were then scuffed with a sanding cone and the plates were welded in. This part easily was 90% prep/cleaning and 10% welding.
