Hupp Hardware was located at Harry and Washington from 1984-1998. That building was previously a furniture store, an appliance store, and in the 1940’s it was Royal Crown Cola Bottling Co.

Hupp Hardware published this ad in 1950 promoting 28 years in business. Now, we celebrate 100 years serving Wichita. Join us October 7-8 for our 100 year anniversary event.

If you could travel back 100 years and take a walk down east Harry, this is what you might see: the brand new Harry Street school, barber shops, bakers, grocers, a candy company, a fruit market, an auto repair shop, a blacksmith, and a lumber yard before reaching Hupp Hardware at Harry and Ida. Then you would be at the edge of town.
The school remains and Hupp Hardware has moved a little west, but all the other businesses are long gone. Hupp Hardware is still serving Wichita since 1922.
