A few weeks ago, we lost a legend here at ProKnee. Violet (Vie) Richards was an incredibly strong woman with an amazing spirit. She was quick to smile and slow to anger despite hardships earlier in life. She worked at ProKnee sewing straps for our full-length kneepads until age 83! The Mother of ProKnee’s founder, Vie, was proud of her son and her work. She worked into her eighties not because she needed the money, but because she loved the purpose, the co-worker interactions and being a part of the ProKnee family. She was a joy to have on the manufacturing floor and could always be found reading the local newspaper on her lunch break. Her sparkling eyes and frequent giggles were enjoyably out of place in the industrial setting. Vie was a model of strength, independence and compassion. If you purchased a pair of custom sized Proknees between 1989 and 2020, Vie sewed the loops on your straps and she did so with a smile. An amazing woman, a resilient life. We will carry on her purpose and pride and miss her every day.💜Violet Richards 1937-2025💜
