Your podcast set-up does not need to be complicated. This 👆could be your entire podcast “studio” ... In fact, it should be as simple as you need it to be to create amazing content.
The ZOOM H4n Pro and a set of Audio-Technica ATH-M20x headphones 🎧.
We love the ZOOM H4n Pro as a podcasting solution. The built-in stereo mics at the top sound great on their own - good enough for picking up one or two podcasters cleanly. Don’t let the term scare you. It might sound like pro-level audio engineering lingo, but it’s an important function of recording your podcasts 💡
Multitrack recording is when you record each podcaster as their own recording - ultimately to make the cohesive full podcast. What this allows for is editing each individual’s track separately so you can edit more precisely without impacting other tracks. All our go-to Podcast Recorders are able to record these multiple tracks at the same time, while also producing the final “full” podcast in the event you don’t need to edit.
You might not need to edit individual tracks ever, but if you don’t record them as individual tracks you won’t have them when you need them.
