Olson Engineering is a small business that provides state-of-the-art structural and infrastructure condition assessment using a wide variety of NDT technologies, and advanced ground imaging with multiple geophysical methods for geologic, engineering and hydrologic applications. Investigations are performed domestically throughout the U.S. Projects are conducted for governmental agencies, commercia
l & private industry, and educational institutions. The professional staff at Olson Engineering have been carefully assembled to include world class expertise in a wide range of NDT and geophysical consulting services. The staff range from technicians to Ph.D. registration in 27 states. Collectively the professional staff at Olson have over 100 years’ experience conducting NDT services, and over 90 years’ experience conducting geophysical services. In general the NDT and geophysics groups work closely together, working with common clientele but servicing different needs to the industry. The NDT business group is managed by Mr. Larry Olson on the east coast and Mr. Dennis Sack (Senior VP / Principal Engineer) at the corporate office, while the geophysics business group is managed by Mr. Phil Sirles (COO / Principal Engineer). To make Olson have the competitive advantage in both the NDT and geophysics industry, we have assembled a multidisciplinary group of dedicated people whose educations/degrees include civil engineering with strengths in structural, geotechnical, pavement and materials engineering; electrical engineering and mechanical engineering, physics, mathematics, geophysics, and geology, with strengths in engineering, environmental and groundwater, and mineral exploration. Together, this combination of professional strengths enable Olson to develop state-of-the-art test/field procedures, and build instruments and software to meet both the routine and unique project needs. As a result, Olson has experience in NDT condition assessment of a wide array of materials including concrete, masonry, steel, timber, asphalt, and other materials. In addition, the geophysical imaging has abilities to present subsurface properties of soil deposits and rock formations in 1D, 2D and 3D with advanced imaging technology. In the 30 years Olson has been in business, we have conducted projects in all 50 United States, as well as around the world providing NDT and/or geophysical services in Australia, Germany, Canada, Kuwait, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Africa, Ecuador, Egypt, India, Italy, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, Japan, China, and the United Kingdom. Olson has branch offices located across the United States covering the following regions: Rutherford, New Jersey (greater metropolitan New York City area), Manassas, Virginia (greater Washington DC area), and Wheat Ridge, Colorado (greater Denver Metro area) for the corporate office.
