Huntington Steel

This location permanently closed in October 2026. Huntington Steel specializes in providing various steel products processed to the customers specifications.

Permanently closed.

We are a Service Center and Steel Fabricator able to handle any size job. A century of customer service is an admirable goal for any company. But in 1904, James A. Diddle our founding father, was probably not looking 100 years into the future when he began the predecessor to Huntington Steel, Huntington Boiler Works. But the standard of quality and customer service he established has been the model for all to follow. Reaching for Mr. Diddle's standard is one of the reasons that Huntington Steel has become the prominent, family owned metal supplier in the region.

"You have no dread of getting up in the morning and going to work."

That's how Tim Delong describes working at Huntington Steel.

For Tim, it comes down to something simple.

It's a family-owned company with a family atmosphere.

People take care of one another. They understand that life at home matters just as much as the work you do here. When people know they're valued both on and off the job, it changes the way they show up every day.

That's the kind of culture we're working to build at Huntington Steel.

A job that needs both materials and fab used to mean two vendors, two schedules, and two sets of people to track down when something didn't line up. We've been doing it right under one roof since 1904.

If you've got something coming up, send us the specs and we'll put together a quote.

When you tell us how you need the steel delivered, that's how we set it up. The cut length, the bundle size, the date. We're not going to decide what's easiest for us and hand it off. Our process starts with what the job actually requires.

"Your name is everything. Once you lose it, you've lost it."

That's the advice Tim Delong's dad gave him years ago, and it's still the way he leads today.

Recently, two members of our Pikeville team walked into Tim's office with a concern. The bed on one of the company trucks had developed holes. Nothing had happened, but they knew it could become a safety issue for someone driving behind them.

Nobody told them they had to say something. They did it because it was the right thing to do.

That story says a lot about Tim, but it also says a lot about the people he works beside every day.

We sat down with Tim to talk about leadership, family, teamwork, and what keeps him coming back after more than 22 years in the steel industry.

Watch his story below.
