For this project, North Bay Construction installed two new sludge pumps in the Clarifier Pump Building, three new dilution water pumps in the Residuals Handling Building, and two sets of 4” sump pumps in the Floc/Sed building. McVac was hired to help in the removal of sludge and anthracite from the existing 35’ deep tunnels/conduits.

The scope of work for this project was to weld and fabricate 8’’ schedule 80 316H high temperature stainless steel piping from a Stahl Heater outside to the engine test cell inside the building. Field installation required overhead crane and rigging for prefabricated piping spools. Final completion work had to have all welds 100% visually inspected and Phased Arrayed which is a form of ultrasonic testing.

This project will consist of installing 3 disk filters with space for 1 future unit, demolishing existing filters and ancillary equipment, constructing a new distribution chamber, and constructing a new floor 4-feet below existing first floor level. We will also install a new trickling filter; along with an emergency generator and any other misc. improvements needed throughout the project to insure the efficiency of the pump.
