It is a physically demanding job, you will be working on a route delivering compressed gas cylinders and material throughout Long Island. Description: General Welding Supply Corp. is seeking a Pump Room Operator for its Westbury fill plant location. GWS is a leader with over 90 years of experience in the medical, industrial, and cryogenic compressed gas industries.

Job Summary: Pumps and repackages compressed and liquified gas into cylinders.

Essential Duties:

Operates pumping/repackaging equipment.
Positions cylinders on fill station manifolds.
Perform all required inspections and tests as applicable.
Fills cylinders utilizing all approved fill procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Accurately maintains filling records in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Maintains warehouse, including stock, cleanliness
Work safely and maintain safe working conditions at all times.
Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned
Qualifications: Individual must be able to perform the essential duties satisfactorily. The ideal candidate will be safety oriented, dependable and moticated

Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent. Experience in the compressed gas industry preferred.

Physical Demands: Employee will be regularly required to stand, walk, sit, reach, handle, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear, and smell. The employee will be required to regularly lift up to 75 pounds and potentially more. Vision requirements for this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.

From request, to design, to installation in less than 2 weeks the Cryo-Tech division of General Welding Supply has completed requested upgrades and overhauls of bulk oxygen systems at SUNY Hospital in Stony Brook New York. These upgrades will ensure that the hospital has a steady uninterrupted of oxygen when they need it most while they increase their capacity to handle more ventilators.

The doctors and nurses that are on the front lines of this COVID-19 crisis currently have one tool to save the lives of patients affected by this virus and that’s Oxygen. In speaking with doctors, and respiratory therapists around the country it has been found that the amount of oxygen that these patients require, combined with the increased number of patients that the hospitals are seeing, is beyond anything they have ever seen or imagined. The increased oxygen consumption at hospitals around the world has taxed many of their bulk oxygen storage and delivery systems in some cases almost to the brink of failure.

We are honored and proud to be able to support our Hospitals and Healthcare workers in this time of need. Also thankful for the support of our suppliers like, Chart Industries, who helped move mountains to make these projects happen in record time.

We are still ramping up our supplies of Medical Oxygen tanks ready to deploy thousands of cylinders at a moments notice when the call comes in. Please don’t hesitate to call us with any of your medical oxygen needs both large and small during this crisis. We are here to help!!!

General Welding Supply is here, during this National Emergency, to serve the needs of our medical community.

While the world is being asked to stay home and flatten the curve, the amazing staff at GWS remains committed to delivering the medical gases and products that our community depends on, now more than ever during this health crisis.

Because of the vital nature of the products we deliver, we need to protect our amazing staff and their families. Due to this need we are required to make a few changes to our operations during this emergency.

During this time we ask that all of our customers call our office for delivery instead of visiting our showroom stores.

For the time being we will be closing our Westbury showroom store to the public. Our office, cylinder filling, and delivery operations remain open. If you absolutely need to visit us, our Holbrook location will remain open Monday through Friday from 8am-4:30pm. Please call the Holbrook location for parking lot service in order to limit exposure and contact inside the store. Call us at (631)-563-6561 to arrange service.

During this time we are also asking that customers do not sign delivery invoices but instead take a copy that we will leave with the cylinders, sign, and fax or email a copy to our office if a signature is required for payment.

Currently we are operating at full capacity with a priority put on medical customer deliveries. We are in the office and on the road. Please call us if you have any questions related to any part of this emergency or any of these changes. As things are rapidly evolving we will be updating these changes as needed. Please stay safe, stay home, and help flatten the curve.

Another one of our GREAT customers!

It started with a one barrel system and a dream. Everyday that dream comes true. Today we brewed for the first time on our 10BBL system after purchasing it 14 months ago. It's been a long road to get here with tons of support and love. Thank you everyone, especially our DUBCO team that always believes in us!
