On Monday, August 24th, the Greater New Haven Baseball Umpires Association held our annual End of Season Banquet at the beautiful Birchwood's at Oaklane, celebrating another extremely successful year of GNHBUA officiating and, more importantly, the relationships we continue to build both on and off the field.

We were proud to recognize Dave Healy as this year’s recipient of the Ed Rapuano Black Jacket Lifetime Achievement Award, honoring his 38 years of dedication and service to our association and the game of baseball. We also congratulate Coach Trevor Brown of The Morgan School (and now Central Connecticut State University), who was selected by our membership as the 2026 GNHBUA Coach of the Year for his leadership, sportsmanship, and positive relationship with officials.

The evening also gave us the opportunity to recognize 14 members celebrating milestone service anniversaries with GNHBUA. While every one of those milestones represents an incredible commitment to our association, it is difficult not to especially recognize Stan Konesky for an amazing 60 years of service and Bill Riccio for 55 years of service. Their decades of dedication to GNHBUA and high school baseball are truly remarkable.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the evening such a great success, and a special thank you to the Rapuano family for their continued support of our association and for helping us honor Ed’s legacy through the Black Jacket Lifetime Achievement Award.

Finally, thank you to all of the players, coaches, athletic directors, school administrations, tournament directors, and league leaders we had the privilege of working with throughout the season. The relationships and mutual respect we share with the baseball community are a huge part of what makes GNHBUA special, and we are grateful to everyone who helped make 2026 such an outstanding year.

Congratulations again to all of our honorees, and thank you to everyone who made this season one to remember!
