“What I love most about Fadal machine tools is how easy they are to learn and operate. They’re truly user-friendly and forgiving—unlike some other machines, Fadals don’t throw alarms that require a full reset just for a simple overtravel. That alone saves us a lot of time and frustration.

Performance-wise, they’re outstanding. In our shop, we’ve taken full-depth cuts using a 3/4" x 2" end mill at 0.300 per pass, and the spindle powered through without bogging down. Compared to the other machines we run, Fadals consistently deliver superior cutting capabilities.

A lot of people compare Fadal to some of the big name CNC machine manufacturers, so here’s my personal take: Sure, there are larger manufacturers that pump out machines left and right—but Fadals are far superior. I first learned to run CNCs on a big name CNC machine at TMA (Tool and Manufacturing Association), and while they got the job done, the moment I started using a Fadal, I didn’t want to run anything else.”

It’s Fadal’s Distributor Highlight! We are highlighting Dave Autrey. Dave is a distributor in California.

Dave began his career in the manufacturing industry in 1984 at Mori Seiki, where he became one of only two Americans hired for the Western United States. As the first to be factory-trained as a Service Engineer, Dave laid the foundation for a successful and influential career in the field. In 1988, he joined Fexco, a decision driven by the opportunity to grow with the company. At that time, Femco had only 26 machines in the USA. Dave started as a Service Engineer, eventually advancing to Service Manager and later to Tech Support Supervisor, overseeing operations across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

In 1997, Dave took a bold step and left Femco to pursue independent work. Over the next few years, he successfully operated his own business with three employees. In 2001, Dave was offered a position at Fadal as a Field Service Technician, where he underwent the company’s comprehensive training program. Enjoying the collaborative environment, Dave became a key member of the Fadal team.

In 2006, Dave transitioned to a local Fadal dealership, All American CNC Sales, where he had the opportunity to apply his expertise on both lathes and mills, as well as various control systems. His broad skill set allowed him to contribute to the company’s growth and success.

In 2016, Dave was appointed Plant Manager at Fadal's Brea, California location during the company’s re-birth. His leadership and operational expertise were pivotal during this exciting time. Three years later, in 2019, Dave was promoted to General Manager of Fadal, a testament to his dedication, extensive experience, and leadership within the industry.

In 2024, Dave ventured out on his own as a Fadal distributor for California, with the goal of continuing to offer his wealth of knowledge to a new generation of Fadal owners. This new chapter allows him to leverage his expertise and passion for the industry, ensuring that Fadal customers continue to receive exceptional service and support.
