A few things to consider when hiring a tree service.
✅️Do they have workers compensation insurance?
A lot of tree service companies pay their employees with cash, and lack proper coverage. If that employee gets hurt on your property, you could be liable! Always verify that they have WORK COMP INSURANCE!
✅️Is the person performing the work a Certified Arborist?
Lots of "tree guys" can remove trees, but lack the knowledge or skills to perform proper pruning. A bad prune job can ruin your trees entire future with a few badly placed cuts.
✅️When comparing your estimates, consider these factors! Tree services are largely unregulated. It falls on you, the homeowner, to verify that contractors are "playing by the rules" and are doing things by the book. I have seen time and time again, trees butchered, and lawns destroyed, by the cheapest guys!
