Next up in our Sportworks Spotlight series is David Higgins, Staff Civil Engineer at Sportworks Design.

David contributes to a variety of athletic facility projects for high school, collegiate, and professional organizations, with a focus on utility design, grading, site layout, synthetic turf fields, and running tracks.

Starting as a co-op and joining Sportworks full-time in 2022, David has continued to grow his technical knowledge through hands-on project work, mentorship, and involvement with the American Sports Builders Association, including completing the ASBA Fields Academy in 2024.

We’re proud of the thoughtful approach, curiosity, and commitment David brings to the Sportworks team.

Our Sportworks Spotlight series continues with Jaxon Jaggers, Assistant Project Manager at Sportworks Design.

Jaxon brings civil engineering experience focused on athletic facility development, supporting projects through site development, stormwater solutions, grading, utility design, and design coordination.

With experience on projects like Purcell Marian High School’s Staubach Stadium and Moeller High School’s Kremchek Baseball Stadium, Jaxon brings a detail-oriented approach and a passion for creating facilities that serve athletes, schools, and communities.

We’re proud of the dedication and perspective he brings to the Sportworks team.

Sportworks Design is proud to support Madeira City Schools with the conversion of the varsity baseball infield to synthetic turf.

Game on, Ohio. 🏈

This year marks a major milestone for girls high school flag football in Ohio, as the sport becomes officially sanctioned and teams compete in the first-ever state tournament.

Schools across the area are battling for a chance to advance to the regional finals at Paycor Stadium on May 11.

Sportworks Design is proud to celebrate the growth of girls flag football and the athletes helping shape the future of the game.

Our monthly Sportworks Spotlight series continues with Craig Honkomp, PE, Senior Sports Engineer at Sportworks Design.

With more than three decades of experience and over 200 athletic projects, Craig has played a key role in shaping the design of sports facilities across the country. From natural grass fields to synthetic turf systems and tracks, his work reflects a deep understanding of performance, durability, and long-term success. Craig is also a respected industry leader, contributing to national organizations and helping guide best practices in sports facility design.

We’re proud of the experience and leadership he brings to both the Sportworks team, and the broader athletic facility industry.
