Travelers in West Pasco County, Florida, are enjoying relief from traffic congestion and added ramp access to the I-75 thanks to this new interchange and widened Overpass Road!

Collaborating closely with the FDOT, The Middlesex Corporation, and HNTB through a design-build delivery process, American, a CONSOR Engineers company, provided roadway and structures design services for this new interchange project. Some cool aspects:

📐 Optimized bridge design details and a well-choreographed er****on scheme minimized impacts to traffic along I-75.

⚡ Expertly coordinated design and construction fit within specified schedules for right-of-way acquisition and significant water and power utility relocation.

🚧 Overpass Road could only be closed for 365 calendar days, and the project team overcame all delays to open on schedule!

The American team has been selected to provide design, plans preparation, and permitting for widening and improvements to Center Street from Loxahatchee River Road to Alternate A-1-A, for Palm Beach County. This project will include safety enhancements to reduce conflicts and improve pedestrian and bicycle facilities. Improvements to traffic operations with the addition of directional and bi-directional left-turn lanes will also be included. William Adams, PE, will lead our team as our Project Manager with Sofía Quiñones-Benejam, PE, as Deputy Project Manager. Our team will be supported by Massee Consulting Services, LLC; Brown & Phillips, Inc.; and Thomas Geotechnical Services, LLC.

Our team is thrilled to be ranked first for the Florida Department of Transportation District Three Districtwide Bridge Repair Contract. This is a 5-year, $1.5 million contract that we have now held for three consecutive terms. Leahann Powell, PE, will serve as our contract manager with Cody Barrett, PE as deputy contract manager and structures lead.
