Jack's Cape Cod Boat Rental

We are super excited to now have permission from the Town of Wellfleet to deliver and pickup boats at Gull Pond. Our friends who do not have a vehicle, or cannot lift/carry/transport a boat by themselves, or have other restrictions that prevent them from enjoying a boat out on Gull Pond now have the option to paddle or sail on Gull Pond this summer. Our great boathands will bring you a boat, help you launch, and then drive it away when you are done enjoying your adventure.

All rental activity has to happen between 10 AM and 4 PM, and rentals are restricted to a maximum of 3 hours per rental. Please avoid all private property, all vegetated shoreline areas, and especially avoid the very fragile sluiceway between Higgins and Williams Ponds.

Thanks to the Wellfleet Selectboard and the Town Administrator for allowing us this access. Gull Pond is special - let's enjoy it while also protecting and preserving it. See you this summer!

Our sunfish dollies were a huge help at Jack's Boat Rental last summer (and our customers bought them all by the end of the season), so I spent the last few days making 12 more of them before heading to the Cape. If you rent a sunfish from Jack's, we'll lend you a dolly to help move the boat around.

We'll be back on Cape Cod in two weeks, opening up Jack's Boat Rental shop, and exploring more nooks, crannies, marshes, and estuaries on our kayaks, SUPs and sunfish. Once every five years, the National Recreational Boating Safety Survey (NRBSS) sponsored by the U.S. Coast Guard makes rounds collecting data on how many people go boating, the types of boats they use and how often they’re on the water.

As state boaters registrations typically target motorized vessels leaving human-powered kayaks, canoes and paddleboards unrecorded in many states, the NRBSS may be one of the best ways for paddlesports boaters to ensure their interests are represented and participation in boating recreation properly recorded.

The East Coast froze over so we went to Sausalito and borrowed some kayaks from our friends at SeaTrek. Great views of San Francisco from our boats!
