Today was “Hardware Day” and the start of the close out process. Hardware stores came from as far away as Pittsburgh to buy inventory. Generations 3,4,& 5 helped in the process. Many thanks to the family for pitching in. Tomorrow starts discounts on all goods....stop and see us!

Yesterday the Marsh family, from the 2nd to the 5th generations, celebrated 100 years of service to the community at the Weirton American Legion. Many long time friends, customers, and business acquaintances came out to celebrate the milestone. The history of the company and Weirton were all topics of discussion and a lot of memories were shared by all. Unfortunately we made a major announcement that was quite difficult to do. Over the past 10 months our supply chain has been significantly impacted by the “pandemic”. Our order fill rates have been 50-60% with shortages in key categories. Plastic pipe, porcelain toilets and sinks, anything metal, paints, and other key items are not being shipped. Recently I received a bulletin that there will be a shortage of fasteners because there are no containers to bring product from overseas. In my 52 years associated with the store a first occurred last week, a weekly delivery was going to be a couple days late because the driver did not report to work for his load, he quit.
With all that said we have decided to close our doors August 15, 2021 if not sooner. This has been a difficult decision in these difficult times but it is a decision that was forced upon us. Further details of the liquidation plan are forthcoming and God Bless our greatest asset, our customers.

On March 21, 2021 we will mark our 100th year serving the tri-state area. As soon as the weather warms up and we see how the pandemic situation progresses we will plan a celebration. Watch for further posts!

Contrary to any rumors in the community we are operating normally and safely following guidelines of Gov. Justice. We will continue to operate in this manner unless Gov. Justice orders otherwise. Thank you for your support and patience during these times.

It's been a fascinating 24 hours here in Raleigh! We will have some great items coming in over the next few months such as the new Henry shotgun line, entry level pricing on some new lines as well. Probably the most fascinating thing to watch is Raleigh "dig out" from only 2-3" of snow. Haven't seen any government equipment yet just backhoes, atvs and a lot of shovelers. Watch the video.
