CMG is pleased to announce that we have successfully completed our Stage 2 ISO9001:2015 certification audit, with no major/minor findings or any OFI’s. The implementation of our Quality Management System has been a year in the making, and we are proud to see our efforts and improvements are paying off.

We appreciate the hard work all of our employees have put into creating a successful QMS and accommodating the continued changes and growth. We look forward to seeing what the next year brings!

Coffey Machining Group has an immediate opening for a full-time 1st and 2nd shift CNC Operator in our Burnsville, NC, manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities and Duties
• Review setup sheet and specifications to determine setup procedures.
• Running test programs or test material before the start of operations.
• Set tooling parameters and establish work shifts from an absolute home position on the machine controller in conjunction with the CAD program.
• Make basic edits or corrections to work shifts, or tool offsets on the machine controller to improve part quality or run time efficiency.
• Ability to run multiple jobs concurrently and self-manage time so that machines are not sitting.
• Inspect parts against drawings or a master article while overseeing machine functions using a variety of different measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, gage pins, etc.)
• Assist with developing and machining work holding for new jobs.
• Check machine coolant and oil levels and replenish when necessary.
• Keep the machines and workstations clean and tidy.
• Be neat, organized, and punctual.
Qualifications:
• Possess mechanical and mathematical aptitude.
• Willingness to learn and grow with a well-established local company.
• Familiarity and experience operating Swiss Style CNC machines preferable.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in CNC machining is preferable.
• On the Job training will be given as needed.
• Willingness to be cross trained in other tasks pertaining to the manufacturing process as needed.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Cleared Federal Criminal Background Check; our business maintains an FFL.
• Documents for eligibility to work in the United States must be presented upon hire.

Not all of our parts are little Swiss parts.

This is a repeat job we’ve not made since the early days of the old shop. We really struggled with them then. Our issues were mainly due to the stringy nightmare material they are(HDPE). Some creative programming and better tooling made a real difference in the success of this job.

At CMG we are not complacent with old programs and methods, we continually strive to find new and more efficient methods and tools to make better parts faster!

Our knurled parts are always getting the glamour shots! 😍

We are very picky about how our knurled parts look and feel. We think a good knurl must be aesthetically pleasing to the eyes and perform its intended purpose.

This customer was very satisfied with the finish of these custom stainless steel screws.
