Just got home from a weekend up in Illinois. The landscape was wide open and so were the forges. I’d can’t thank Tyler Joos and his wonderful family enough for their hospitality. I’m certain everyone left there with a better understanding of massaging metal, you guys all did outstanding. The Land of Lincoln Horseshoers Association has got it going on.

The season opener for the World Championship Blacksmiths was nothing short of incredible. It was a humbling experience that left me in awe of the talent and dedication of the group. The camaraderie within the group is truly special, and I feel so lucky to be a part of it. A big thank you to the WCB crew for all their hard work, and to the sponsors of the live shoeing, Liberty Horseshoe Nails, for their support. And of course, a special thank you to Empire Farrier Supply for sponsoring the Best Shod Foot - it's an honor to add another one to the collection. And finally, a huge thank you to Adam Fahr for swinging the big hammer . Looking forward to seeing everyone at the next event in Edgewood.

If you’re an avid competitor you should have one in your bag.

Today is the season opener for the World Championship Blacksmiths competition at the midwestern horse fair in Madison Wisconsin. The feeling I have when I wake up on travel day is hard to put into words. It’s addicting! Everytime feels like the first time.

Tools are tuned, bags are packed and I’ve got a truck full of rowdy Texans ready to embark on an expedition for greatness, or so we hope😬

Looking forward to seeing everyone up there. Let’s the good times roll 🤙
