Customer sent in this Matsuura spindle stating they felt a clicking noise within spindle and suspected bad bearings. After evaluation we determined the #1 bearing catastrophically failed and the 40 ID Big Plus taper needed grind/plate/grind work. They are now back up and running and happy with the repair!!

Check out this before and after of a Big Plus taper from a Mori Seiki Duravertical spindle we repaired recently. This taper had very high runout, poor tool contact, and did not meet Big Plus Dual Contact specifications.
