t is officially Grain Bin Safety Week.
So I thought I would give you a little update as to where we are sitting on entrapments for the year.
So far in 2026 we have 10 entrapments nationwide. These 10 entrapments are split 50/50 between corn and soybeans. and one of them actaully happened in a ground pile of corn.
6 states have experinced entrapments so far in 2026 (IA, IL, MN, MO, MS, ND)
Two of these entrapments were in Minnesota this last week!
One of the incidents involved 2 people being entrapped
The youngest person entrapped was 34 and the oldest was 83
6 of the entrapped individuals were able to be rescued
This unfortunately puts us well ahead of the annual average number of entrapments

Recently Grain Guardian delivered rescue systems to Lincoln County fire departments after they had a grain entrapment.

Wilton fire district received a Grain Gaurdian rescue system last evening.
This system was donated by Farm Credit Services of Mandan.

Our first delivery was to the Robinson Fire Department.
Robinson received a grain rescue system that was donated by Farm Credit Services of Mandan.
RFD invited all of their neighboring fire departments in for the training and Grain Gaurdian had a great night training them what to do if an entrapment should occur!
