When a component design calls for subminiature scale, ordinary stamping methods hit a physical brick wall. Maintaining uniform wall thickness at a micro-level requires an entirely different engineering approach.

In fluid-delivery applications and high-reliability sensors, microscopic tool marks can cause premature wear, friction, or turbulent flow. Unlike alternative manufacturing methods that leave behind sharp machining grooves, the deep-draw process subjects the metal to a natural burnishing effect as it moves through carbide and diamond dies. This friction-reducing flow leaves both the inside and outside diameters with a highly smooth and reflective surface finish.

Depending on your material choice, Braxton consistently achieves surface finishes down to 10 microinches Ra (0.25 microns Ra) straight off the press, without the need for separate polishing operations.
