Since 1841, F.D. Sterritt Lumber has been serving the ever changing building materials needs of New England. From its humble beginnings serving industrial manufacturers at its Cambridge location, Sterritt Lumber has since developed the versatility to satisfy a wide range of customers from homeowners to the largest commercial contractors and everyone in between. Now in its 3rd generation of Mackin family ownership Sterritt is poised for the future while maintaining our rich history of quality and service.

Some of Sterritt’s specialties include new home construction, remodeling, commercial contracting, professional lumber take-offs, engineered beam calculations, and kitchen design services. Employing over 65 service professionals with remarkable industry experience, just about anything a customer would encounter during the building materials process can be serviced by Sterritt Lumber. Included as a specialty is our unparalleled commitment to prompt delivery. We have a fleet of GPS equipped moffitt and boom trucks to handle even the most precarious of jobsites. Our delivery service ranges from Boston to Providence, RI, up to Nashua, NH, and west to Worcester, MA.

Sterritt Lumber’s versatility is not limited to customer service alone. Along with all of its specialties, we stock an equally vast array of products. Many lumberyards carry dimensional lumber, plywoods, and pressure treated stock. Sterritt Lumber certainly does that but also much more. We also offer moldings, concrete plyform, pvc trimboards, fire treated lumber, exotic hardwoods, Owens Corning insulation, and many TrusJoist products. In 2006, Sterritt Lumber embarked on its newest venture: green building. We became FSC® chain of custody certified to distribute, remanufacture, pressure and fire treat FSC® Certified Wood products. We are very proud of this distinction and will continue to be an industry leader in preserving our environment.
