In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, employees across NWPX Infrastructure came together last week to wear pink, raise awareness, and support the fight against breast cancer.

Through our NWPX Community Impact Program, we raised $2,500 for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, supporting critical research aimed at preventing and curing breast cancer.

Our Wear Pink Day event is an opportunity to encourage conversations about preventive health and early detection, honor those affected by breast cancer, and contribute to research that saves lives.

Thank you to our employees across the company for participating and helping make a difference.

Four days. Seven facilities. One NWPX team.

Members of our NWPX Executive Leadership Team and Board of Directors recently hit the road last week for a Town Hall Tour, visiting Northwest Pipe Company facilities in Parkersburg, West Virginia; Saginaw, Texas; and San Luis Río Colorado, Mexico; our Permalok plant in St. Louis, Missouri; and NWPX Park facilities in San Antonio, Ferris, and Houston, Texas.

The tour provided an opportunity to see our operations in action, observe lean manufacturing initiatives and quality processes firsthand, and connect directly with the people who make it all happen.

Just as importantly, these visits opened the door for meaningful conversations with plant leadership and employees—hearing their perspectives, recognizing what's working well, and discussing ideas and opportunities for continued improvement.

From one facility to the next, the dedication and expertise on display reflected the values that unite us as NWPX: Accountability, Commitment, and Teamwork. Every operation plays an important role in delivering the quality, reliability, and service our customers depend on, and every employee contributes to our collective success.

We're proud of the hard work happening across our facilities every day and grateful for the opportunity to come together, share ideas, and continue building a stronger NWPX.

Today's feature comes from our facility in San Luis Río Colorado, Mexico, where our team is fabricating this impressive 78-inch diameter steel wye fitting.

A standout feature of this custom piece is the large crotch plate reinforcement at the angled branch connection. This specially fabricated steel plate provides additional structural strength at the intersection, helping the fitting withstand the stresses of a pressurized water transmission system.

It's a great example of the precision and skilled craftsmanship involved in manufacturing custom fittings for large-diameter steel pipelines.

As communities across southeastern North Carolina continue to grow, so does the demand on the infrastructure that supplies their water.

The Kings Bluff Raw Water Transmission Main was developed to expand capacity and strengthen reliability for the region served by the Lower Cape Fear Water & Sewer Authority. Across two phases of the project, Northwest Pipe manufactured nearly 21 miles of 54-inch engineered steel pipe to support the expansion of the regional raw water system.

Our scope included cement mortar-lined, polyurethane-coated steel pipe engineered for the project’s alignment and operating requirements, including pipe for an approximately 800-foot crossing beneath the Cape Fear River.

The result is additional transmission capacity and greater system redundancy—helping provide a more reliable raw water supply for communities and industries throughout the growing Lower Cape Fear region.

Today is World Trenchless Day, celebrating the people, technologies, and ingenuity that continue to push the limits of where—and how—critical underground infrastructure can be built.

Trenchless construction makes it possible to install and renew infrastructure beneath highways, railroads, waterways, dense urban areas, and other challenging environments while limiting disruption at the surface. And as projects push into more demanding conditions, the technology and methods used to overcome those challenges continue to evolve. Longer drives, complex alignments, difficult ground conditions, and other project constraints are being met with advances in engineering, equipment, materials, and installation methods that are changing how these projects are approached.

At Northwest Pipe Company, we’re proud to be part of that evolution, developing new steel pipe technologies alongside an industry that continues to find smarter ways to solve increasingly complex underground infrastructure challenges.

September is National Service Dog Month, and our Portland team is proud to support an organization making a meaningful difference through the life-changing work of service dogs. 🐾

Through the NWPX Community Impact Program, Northwest Pipe Company’s Portland plant recently donated $2,000 to Canine Companions, a nonprofit that provides expertly trained service dogs to adults, children and veterans with disabilities—as well as facility dogs working in healthcare, criminal justice and educational settings—at no cost to clients.

The connection is especially meaningful to our team. Portland Health and Safety Manager Andrew Reyes and his wife Tosha Bennett volunteer with Canine Companions, helping raise future service dogs and giving us a firsthand look at the dedication that goes into preparing these dogs for their important work.

We’re proud to support Canine Companions, its volunteers, and the people whose service dogs help them live with greater independence every day.

A first-of-its-kind installation in New Jersey demonstrates how the Permalok® Radial Bending Joint (RBJ) makes intentionally curved steel microtunneling possible.

Northeast Remsco installed 1,290 LF of Permalok casing with the patent-pending RBJ as part of the Two Rivers Water Reclamation Authority’s Emergency Pleasure Bay Interceptor Bypass Tunnel. The curved alignment, designed by Hazen and Sawyer, allowed crews to intercept the project’s partially completed original tunnel and successfully complete the crossing.

Designed specifically for intentionally curved microtunneling alignments, the RBJ gives engineers and contractors a new option for navigating challenging underground conditions with steel casing pipe.
