We are excited to welcome RPI Level 4 Instructor Stephanie Lawson to Capital Pilates Studio on Friday, May 22 and on Saturday, May 23. She will be teaching Private Sessions, 2 Mat Group Classes and 2 Workshops for clients and instructors.

Stephanie Lawson, originally from VT, began practicing Pilates in 2002 while recovering from ACL/meniscus surgery at Goucher College. She was a dancer who was eager to recover as quickly as possible, so she began using Pilates as a form of rehabilitation. Stephanie received Goucher’s Pilates certification scholarship and pursued her training at the time with Michael Rooks in DC, as well as Sari Meija Santos, Daria Pace, Cynthia Shipley and Jerome Weinberg in NYC. Stephanie was fully certified in 2005 and promoted to Level IV in 2018. Stephanie feels the longer she practices Pilates, the more fulfilling it becomes. She believes Pilates can be very powerful and loves to watch how it benefits any and everybody that puts the mind and the body together with control. As the director of the Pilates Center at Goucher, Stephanie is proud to be part of the Romana’s Pilates International legacy and to educate and introduce young people to the true method of Pilates.
