Hi everyone! Carla here– Seth's eldest daughter and Ballard + Mensua marketing associate– aka the voice behind our cool and up-and-coming social media at the moment.
Having spent many years in Spain as a family– and having studied my degree there myself, our knowledge and love of Spanish culture runs deep. So without further ado, welcome to Spanish Saturday– a day where we share two things we love as one– Spain and Architecture.
Today's feature is one of my favorite buildings in all of the very cool city of Madrid– Ferdando Higueras' "The Oasis." Throughout my time in Madrid, I spent A LOT of time walking around taking pictures of beautiful architecture (an appreciation I inherited from my dad), and this building takes the cake in my camera roll by a milestone.
Higueras was an eccentric character– not only was he an architect, he was a musician and music lover, photographer, AND painter in the 70s. A multidimensional man, who designed multidimensional architecture such as The Oasis. His multidimensional personality and talent are what made his designs so unique– something I like to think Ballard + Mensua Architecture, more specifically my dad, resembles in his own work.
I hope you enjoy this graphic I put together showcasing my favorite Spanish architect. More Spanish architecture to come– give us a follow and stay tuned!
