Board Of Shred Skate School

Board Of Shred Skate School My name is Jeremy Stettin and I'm a skateboarder with 8 years of experience and 4 years experience teaching skateboarding. Based on the Hill.

I offer skate lessons to kids of all ages and skill levels. If you are interested please text me at 202-684-5911. Whether your child has never set foot on a skateboard or has some experience and wants to take it to the next level, I can help them realize their potential. I love skateboarding, and I love teaching. Additionally, I'm great with kids, I was a camp counselor throughout high school, and

I'm fully vaccinated. I will meet you and your child or group at a location of your choice (although I recommend Maloof skatepark at RFK stadium, which I consider to be the most beginner-friendly skatepark in DC) and teach them the skills necessary to build a foundation for learning tricks. Most of my students are able to properly push, coast, turn, stop, and traverse mild ramps within the first few lessons, though every student is different. After covering the basics, we will move on to simple tricks like ollies (jumping) and more challenging terrain (such as curved ramps and riding off curbs). At each lesson, I will demonstrate new concepts to your child, help them find the foot position that will set them up for success, and give positive yet constructive feedback between attempts to fuel their excitement. I will also spot your child and let them hold my hands for stability if asked. Perhaps the best thing that I offer my students is the confidence to try and fail in front of other people that comes from having an older, experienced skater at their side. The skate park can be an intimidating place, which is why I make a point to remind my students that we were all beginners once. Here is my info:

Prices:
$25 / hour for 1 student, and $20 for each additional students ($40 for 2, $60 for 3) with a maximum of 4 students per lesson. Payment:
I accept cash, venmo, and cashapp. Equipment:
Your child will need a conventional skateboard (popsicle shaped with identical nose and tail). If your child has a longboard or penny board, we can still hold lessons, but I will recommend purchasing a conventional skateboard ASAP as non-skateboards are designed solely for transportation and can't be used to learn tricks. If you need help finding a good board for your child, I can send you links to websites I like that sell them. I also recommend a helmet, and pads to a lesser extent, but it is completely up to you whether or not to bring them. I do not wear protective equipment. Scheduling:
I am a part time college student and have 2 other jobs, so it is difficult for me to schedule lessons at the last minute. Please text me to schedule a lesson at least 2 days in advance so that I can make sure I'm available when the time comes. I respond fastest over text. Tardiness:
If you are running late to a lesson, just let me know and I will wait for you and give your child the full hour starting from when you arrive at the park unless I have another lesson scheduled immediately after yours. Location:
As said before, I am based on the Hill and prefer to meet at Maloof skatepark, but I can meet elsewhere on request. There are skateparks at Shaw, Banneker, Mt. Rainier, and Garfield Park. I HIGHLY recommend holding lessons at skateparks, not parking lots. Skateparks are well paved, offer a diverse selection of obstacles, and are much more stimulating environments than flat, open lots, where your child will likely get bored. Feel free to text me any questions and I hope to see you at the park!

First lesson with K! Loving the commitment. I always start my new students off with the basics and make sure they aren't skating outside their abilities. We'll get to the big ramps eventually!

Here, I'm explaining what each foot does when performing an ollie (or jump) to Maddie. Ollies are probably the biggest milestone in a skaters journey, but they're also one of the most time intensive to master (after 8 years, I'm still working on mine). To anyone reading this who wants to learn how to ollie, remember: I can explain it to you, but I can't practice it for you!

George's first fakie revert! This is a tough one to learn but he remembered that it's all in the shoulders.
