Danny lives and rides in central Illinois which is nicknamed "the Prairie State," marked by farmland, forests, rolling hills and wetlands. Best seasons to ride are: Spring, Summer, and Fall. Illinois has a mid-continental climate that varies widely throughout the year: very warm, humid summers and cold winters.

One of Danny’s favorite areas to ride is near Alton, IL which is about an hour from his home. Alton is on the Mississippi River and its river town history from 1818 is all about the Mississippi River. This region is characterized by a dramatic, varied topography defined by steep limestone bluffs, deep river valleys, and karst features. Situated along the Mississippi River, the terrain heavily dictates its layout, resulting in distinct geographic zones and challenges from back country roads with many curves, and long straights in the flood zone areas.

Danny does ‘slow-down’ to take in the beautiful scenic vistas as he exercises his 2024 Aprilia Touno 660 in the curves and on the straights along the Mississippi. His Aprilia handles the diverse roadways with ease. Danny enjoys taking a ferry across the Mighty Mississippi to run down the backroads on Missouri’s side and ferry back again to the Illinois side to stop for a rest-bit at his favorite bar known as ‘Fast Eddies’….a very appropriate name, because nothing is ‘slow’ about the riders at this saloon!

Mark lives in northern Colorado, one of the Mountain States. Northern Colorado has a mix of scenic high plains, foothills, and mountains. Best seasons to ride are: Spring, Summer and Fall.

One of Mark’s favorite rides is through Poudre Canyon on CO14. Mark says, ‘The ride through the canyon is quite magical with towering sheer rock walls, as the road runs along-side the Poudre River, then as you climb in elevation, the topography changes as you ascend from roughly 5,000 ft. to nearly 10,000 ft. @ Cameron Pass. The summit is 10,276 ft. but the road is a few hundred feet lower. Once you’re on the other side you’re in the high plains (8,000-9,000 ft. elevation) on the way to Walden, Colorado, one road with many miles of breathtaking scenery.’

The classic look of Mark’s 2018 Triumph Bobber fits with the scenic roads he rides. We cannot think of a better way to enjoy a day of riding on the canyon roads than on a classic Bobber. The Bobber achieves approximately 60 mpg, providing Mark with many miles of satisfying riding before having to make a stop.

Sean lives in central Texas and his favorite riding region is called the ‘Hill Country’. The ‘Hill Country’ is in the middle of a unique, narrow transitional zone between the dry deserts of the American Southwest and the lush, green regions of the American Southeast. The climate is typified by long summers, short mild winters, and warm spring and fall seasons in-between, providing Sean with year round riding.

The Texas Hill Country is a rugged, scenic region characterized by steep limestone hills, canyons, and plateaus, primarily formed by the erosion of the Edwards Plateau. It features elevations ranging from 400 to over 2,400 feet.

Sean’s rides are characterized by scenic, winding routes through limestone hills, river valleys, and ranchlands. His key routes include the “Twisted Sisters”, the historic Devil's Backbone, and the wildflower-filled Willow City Loop. Sean’s Honda CBR500R is the perfect ‘go-fast’ machine for these winding country roads. Sean has modified his CBR for even more thrilling riding through the ‘Hills’.

Sean says he is no longer a ‘Whipper-Snapper’ and now tends to ride slower to enjoy the scenery. Neither his wife nor we believe him.

Roland lives in southwest Hungary and rides at the ‘meeting point’ of two large regions: the Great Hungarian Plain and Transdanubia Mountains. The terrain is varied with gentle hills, valleys, basins, mountains and plains providing Roland his choice of roads to ride. The weather conditions often make riding challenging. The summers are hot (the temperature sometimes goes up to 36–37 °C) and stifling, while the winters are cold and snowy.

This Region has been continuously inhabited since the end of the Iron Age, but there is evidence of human presence since prehistoric times. In addition to the beautiful landscapes, Roland has many historical sites, villages and cities to explore.

Roland rides more in the winter than in summer because there are no bugs to wash off his Honda CBR650R after every ride, and no unbearable summer heat. While most other riders have their bikes under a blanket in a garage, Roland is feeling like a ‘bad-ass’ being the only rider on the road braving the cold and snow.

Paul lives in Massachusetts and rides primarily in New England and northeast New York State. The winters are usually brutal in Paul’s region with lots of snow. While riding is not year-round, Paul does ride his BMW on sunny winter days for a few hours. Of course, this always means a bike wash-down immediately after.

The seasons of spring, summer and fall are spectacular for riding the mountain roads of the Adirondacks, the Catskills, and the part of the Appalachian Mountains that includes the Hudson Highlands and Taconics. Summers are generally mild with average temps approximately 66 – 73 F.

Beauty and history abounds in these mountains. European colonization of the Catskills and Adirondacks began in the 17th century leaving quaint villages to explore at every turn.

Before every ride, Paul has to decide which bike to ‘throw a leg over’, his BMW GS1300 or his Triumph 900 Speed Twin. According to Paul, his Triumph gets taken on the shorter day trip rides of 120 miles. The BMW is for the longer rides and he is planning a cross country ride in 2026.

Somehow, we do not believe the decision on which of these great bikes to ride is this easy…we are thinking it is more to do with which bike has the most fuel in the tank…

Paul is one of the few ‘Fortunate Riders’ who are able to ride whenever and wherever he wants year round. Paul transports his Honda to various locations in North America in his RV and enjoys the new venue for as long as he wants.

Currently, Paul is riding the scenic historical coastal region of South Carolina. Riding conditions are beautiful this time of year.

When summer arrives, he moves north to avoid the summer heat. One of his favorite riding areas is the Wisconsin's scenic Elkhart Lake Region.

Paul rides his Honda Rebel 300, which is perfect for comfortable backroad cruising as well as for relocating to new areas across North American. Paul notes that he loves the thrill of riding the Road America Race Track in Wisconsin which is the world's fastest permanent road racing track.

We cannot guess Paul’s next riding location when he tires of winning races on the Road America Track. We suspect his 1st Place winnings fund Paul’s unique riding life style…Good Luck Racing!!
