Thanks to everyone for making 2025 an awesome year and getting the page to 25,000 followers and thanks for making the website a success so far as well. I don’t do flashy posts, viral TikTok trends, AI slop, hashtags, or really any marketing at all aside from word of mouth or posts by others who weren’t sponsored to “plug” the business. So thanks for keeping me busy this past year not because of some SEO tricks or a post trending on socials but more so due to the work speaking for itself.
Hope everyone has a safe and happy NYE and a great start to 2026! Let 2026 be the year we all finish at least 1 car project that hasn’t been touched in years???

10/10 way to send in a cluster for repairs. Over the years, people package things in pretty unique ways including my personal least favorite, big box with no padding whatsoever so parts are ping ponging all around and turning into confetti, but this takes the cake especially since Beetle clusters were seemingly made from recycled paper mache and crack if you breathe too hard near it.

Bit of an odd combo here but it’s exactly what was wanted. 99.5 MK4 with green inverted LCDs (which needed some work arounds since 99.5 clusters can’t be coded to light up just those LEDs with ignition), repainted needles green, and all indicator warning lights changed to red and green which seems fitting for the holiday this week.

My supply of Holiday Haribos is almost out but thanks to everyone sending in clusters or buying things off the website, I burned through the supply in record time this year............ maybe had 1 or 2 as a snack though.

Our friends at DAP Repair Ohio sent over a Jetta Sportwagen cluster that had a bad fuel gauge, no outside temp, and various warning lights on. If you're in the NEOhio or Charlotte NC areas and need some work done, him them up! Unlike MK4 clusters that have total thermal melt downs when there's a grounding issue in the engine harness, MK5+ clusters have a handy fusible link and that's what the issue was on this cluster. Link repaired and everything working as it should again for way cheaper than slapping a whole cluster in like many shops would want to do.

Amazing what a new LCD and cleaning can do. Lens still had some defects that were too bad to fully polish out but at least you can see through it again.

The last poor LCD install attempt I posted wasn't bad enough so here's more DIY carnage from this past weekend. Customer was super chill though and knew he messed up but I got it all sorted correctly for him now.

This was a very sad Touareg cluster. No dial or MFD screen backlighting, LCD had vinegar syndrome and delamination, and CANBus communication entirely knocked out. All high voltage related components for the backlighting replaced, entire LCD assembly replaced with brand new unit, and CANBus functionality restored. Granted 7L Touareg clusters are fairly easy to just replace, finding a good V10 TDI one is almost impossible these days so repairing is usually the only financially sensible option.

Customer attempted a blue needle swap mod on his own but accidentally destroyed the needle motors in the process so he sent it this way to get sorted correctly. Motors replaced and needle LEDs changed to blue so the needles look nice and crisp lit up.
