[The Spirit of Oklahoma] This fire truck (the red one being hauled) connects the people of New York with the people of Oklahoma and commemorates heroes from both the Oklahoma City Bombing and the 9/11 terror attack in NYC. It's a great story; check it out. If you'd like to help with the restoration efforts of this engine, visit the page, Restoring the Spirit of Oklahoma, and donate to their drive.

Congratulations to Chief Harold Call and the Collinsville, Oklahoma fire department on taking delivery of your new truck! What's that white stuff on the front? The front is plastic-covered to ensure a bug-free grill... If you've ever driven from Michigan (HME Ahrens-Fox headquarters) to Oklahoma in spring, you know!

[MOTHER ROAD ENTHUSIASTS] Two legends meet on old Route 66: This modern descendant of fire truck history travels a route along American roadway history.

Driving the HME Ahrens-Fox Type III demo out to the western part of Oklahoma, I stopped at this site a couple miles west of Bethany, OK.

Here you can drive over the original, two-lane Route 66 bridge seen in the background. Because of the old structure's weight limit, I had to take the modern 4-lane highway bridge just a few yards beyond. Still, I couldn't resist stopping for the photo op.

[Wildland truck on demo] This wildland-urban truck (owned by the Riverside, CA Fire Department) is nearly identical to the truck we have here in Tulsa right now. We're happy to drive it your way so you can have a look in person.

Engineer John Sierra of the Riverside City Fire Department gives a tour and overview of brush truck operations in Riverside City.
