People prepared to board their morning flights.
People headed to work.
Firefighters prepared for their shifts.
Police officers prepared for patrol.
Paramedics prepared for duty.

None of them knew that their ordinary morning would become part of one of the most tragic days in American history.

In a matter of moments, life changed forever.

Today, as we go about our own routines, may we pause to remember the lives lost, the heroes who ran toward danger, and the families whose lives were forever changed.

Hold your loved ones a little closer.
Be grateful for today.
And never take a single moment for granted.
