Started in 1977, by a group of 17 California blacksmiths, CBA has developed into a thriving group of over 800 blacksmiths and enthusiasts. We are a diverse group of men and women whose common interest is a passion for metal. Our non-profit, volunteer organization is dedicated to keeping the tradition, art and craft of blacksmithing alive. CBA welcomes anyone interested in blacksmithing, from begin
ners to professionals. Be sure to join us so you can enjoy the people, events and resources that make the CBA a valuable organization. The New CBA Online Lessons Initiative
The CBA has taken blacksmith education online, not just for the COVID-19 pandemic but to answer a need in this digital age. From an expanded online magazine with more content and pictures to high-caliber demonstrations from champions of the blacksmithing world the CBA has updated our offerings to fulfil your needs. If you are a member make sure to register for online demonstrations on this website to enjoy your membership discount. Look at the Events page (https://www.calsmith.org/events) to find several Zoom tutorials that are being offered at the moment. Some tutorials are being offered as a series, and others as a stand-alone class. Make sure to check back for current offerings as we are continually adding to the list.
