The 2026 AFCEA Maritime Operations & Information Warfare Summit was one for the books!

Thank you to AFCEA Hampton Roads for hosting an outstanding event focused on advancing the future of the maritime battlespace. It's impactful when leaders and innovators across the defense industrial base can engage directly with Fleet operators, connecting emerging capabilities with the operational needs of today and tomorrow.

Highlights from the week included Dr. Corren McCoy’s Innovation Showcase presentation on model-based approaches to Cyber Ready acquisition and continuous authorization, as well as Chief Business Officer Kevin Esser joining industry leaders for the panel discussion, “How to Be a Successful Small Business in Today’s GovCon Environment.”

G2 Ops is heading to CUSA 2026! The conference is taking place in Reno, NV, from May 18-21 and bringing together some of the brightest minds in digital engineering for four days of hands-on tutorials, breakout discussions, and presentations that are shaping the future of model-based systems engineering.

And some of our engineers are taking to the podium to share their knowledge! Systems Engineer Brandon Wells is presenting "A Practical Approach to Reference Architecture for Evolving Systems."

Increasing system complexity and the shift to virtualization and cloud environments are making it harder to maintain consistent functionality and architecture across implementations. Brandon's demonstration will showcase how a reusable "template" – or reference architecture – can support navigation, consistency, and controlled evolution over time.

Department of the Navy programs are moving toward Cyber Ready acquisition and continuous authorization, but cyber posture is still often assessed through episodic, document-driven reviews.

At the 2026 AFCEA Maritime Operations & Information Warfare Summit, G2 Ops' Senior Fellow of Enterprise Engineering and AI Strategy Dr. Corren McCoy will walk through a model-based approach to Cyber Ready that connects live vulnerability, configuration, and adversary context to an authoritative SysML system model.
