We're taking it back to 1978 at the New Jersey Fruit and Vegetable Convention, when exhibitors set up their booth spaces inside hotel rooms and showcased equipment in the parking lot.

Celebrating 80 Years

We're taking it back to 1999 when Lee Rain, Inc. was setting up one of the first OCMIS hard hose travelers we sold after becoming an OCMIS dealer.

A fun afternoon at Lee Rain over the weekend! 🌭⚾️

With the weather not cooperating for our Phillies outing, we brought everyone together for a company BBQ instead. Good food, plenty of laughs, and a great afternoon with the Lee Rain team!

We’re glad we could still get together and enjoy the day.

This photo from May 1977 shows a BOSS Soft Hose Traveler operating in the field. The BOSS was the first mechanized irrigation machine Lee Rain ever sold, and we were one of the top dealers for BOSS Irrigation back when these machines were popular.

Unlike the hard‑hose reel travelers we picture today, the BOSS was a soft‑hose, cable‑tow machine. A large lay‑flat hose supplied water to the traveler, while a separate steel cable pulled the machine across the field. The cable was anchored at the far end of the run, and a water‑powered mechanical drive wound the cable in. This soft‑hose design came before the polyethylene hard‑hose machines that later became dominant.

A great look back at how irrigation technology has evolved and a meaningful part of our 80‑year story.

In April 1969, we placed this advertisement in the Atlantic City Press as Lee Tractor Company. Long before the name became Lee Rain, we were already serving growers with equipment, pumps, irrigation pipe, fittings, and sprinklers. It’s a snapshot of who we were in the late ’60s and how our mission has stayed the same for more than 80 years.
