It originally started in 1983 as Morres Welding. Morres VanBeveren, aka Morres Welding, performed contract welding from 1983 to 1996 in a variety of industries. During those thirteen years the oil field business had subsided for the most part. Morres had to do odd jobs to keep afloat. The jobs were as odd as uprooting huisache (weesatch) trees from South Texas and transferring them to a brand new
fifteen story building complex in Houston for landscaping. Nearing 1996, Morres started to become tired of welding and decided he did not want to weld for the rest of his life. While welding on a rig one day in the summer sun, he asked a company man if he would rent a pump from him if he were to build one to the company man’s specifications. The company man said yes and a new idea sparked. Morres succeeded in getting the business name spread among the rigs, but the rig companies continued to think it was for welding only because of the name. That is when the switch to MW Rentals & Services took place. What started as one small pump in 1996 has now turned into numerous types of rental equipment and oil field services. MW’s main office is based out of Victoria, Texas, with four satellite yards: two in Victoria, one in Alice, and one in Dilley. This company was founded on hard work and sweat, and it continues to grow and expand with creativity and new rentals and services.
