The Grist Mill at the Wayside Inn in Sudbury, MA, is a stunning example of New England charm and history. Built in 1929 by Henry Ford, this working mill was designed to resemble an 18th-century grist mill. Powered by a picturesque waterwheel, it still produces flour today, used at the historic Wayside Inn. Nestled in a serene, wooded setting, it’s one of the most photographed landmarks in the region—a true gem of New England’s past.

The American Precision Museum in Windsor, VT and Cone Machine Works had us doing a unique job today. We had to rig and load a bunch of 1890's electrical gear that the museum sold to a collector in Baltimore, MD... we are bringing the equipment to Baltimore Labor Day and offloading it in the new owner's facility to be put on display.

The holy grail of the items is a generator built by Thomas Edison in 1890...a slate switching gear board that used to power the museum when it was an operating machine shop in the turn of the century, and many smaller components like motors, meters, gauges and related equipment.

Lots of it was up on the 3rd floor and we used their trolley beam hoist to drop it down to the ground to be loaded. Some was on flat concrete floors.

Definitely get to do a lot of interesting things for the customers that call us for specialized services. We're thankful for every call too.

This American Precision Museum is a great place to visit if you're interested in industrial engineering and machinery from yesteryear.

They have the first Bridgeport milling machine ever built, serial number 1...among other fascinating things to see. It's what built America.

Prepping this SEPTA car for it's trip to it's new home at the Trolley Museum of NY in Kingston, NY on August 8th. Gave it a good bath, she cleaned up nicely.
