How are you preparing for this winter season?

Whether you're hitting the trails this winter or putting your machine away for long-term storage, these are some crucial tips to protect your ride and get ready for spring:

Treat Your Gas: For storage, always use a fuel stabilizer to prevent phase separation and protect your tank/lines from gunk, or you can drain the tank completely!

Consider Your Oil: Switching to a lower viscosity oil helps your engine start and lubricate properly in freezing temperatures.

Charge the Battery: Keep your battery hooked to a charger, or make sure to remove the cables from it if you don't plan on riding during the winter, so when spring comes you don't need to buy another.

Quick Weekend Recap with PMB Racing 🏁

We are always happy to hear from the team over at PMB Racing. Ryder debuted his new car at Ventura and grabbed a heat win right out of the gate. Unfortunately, a broken pull start kept him out of the main—tough break, but he’ll be back stronger.

Levi fought through setbacks, too. After some heavy contact in his heat left the car damaged, the crew and family thrashed in the pits to get him back out. With minutes to spare, Levi returned to the track and drove it to the win.

We are proud to be a part of the team and help them along their journey as racers. We can't wait to hear how they do the rest of the season, good luck team!

Ethanol and Your Fuel System:
What You Should Know

Most gas in the U.S. already contains about 10% ethanol (E10). More drivers are moving toward E85 or higher blends to improve power output. On a side note, higher ethanol is better for the environment, but it also brings new challenges for your fuel system.

Ethanol absorbs water, and when that water settles in the tank, it can lead to corrosion, clogged filters, and added strain on your pump. On top of that, E85 requires around 40% more fuel flow than E10, which means many stock pumps simply aren’t up to the task.

At Quantum Fuel Systems, our pumps are built with ethanol-safe materials and are available in a wide range of flow rates, from 255 LPH to 525 LPH, so whether you’re replacing an OE pump or building a high-performance E85 setup, you know your fuel system is ready to handle it.

Summer Garage Thoughts…

Is it even really a productive weekend if you don’t lose track of time in the garage, end up covered in grease, forget to eat, run through a few pairs of gloves, and say “this’ll just take an hour”... 4 hours ago?

We’re not complaining though. There’s something about the smell of fuel, the grease on your old pants, and the satisfaction of getting it just right before that test ride.

Drop a picture of your summer build in the garage, we love seeing what you're working on.

Customer Spotlight: Tips from the Garage

We recently came across an amazing video from Sterling Robertson who took the time to share tips for installing a Polaris Sportsman 850 fuel pump while using a Quantum unit. Not only did he share an honest and detailed walkthrough, but he also gave us a thoughtful shoutout on his YouTube channel:

Everything You Need to Know About Fuel System Components

At Quantum Fuel Systems, we know how overwhelming it can be to navigate all the different parts involved. That’s why we’ve broken down the most essential fuel system terminology to help you better understand how your fuel delivery system works — and what components might need upgrading.

🔧 Key Fuel System Terms You Should Know:
✅ Fuel Pump – The heart of the system. It draws fuel from the tank and pushes it toward your engine. We offer direct OEM replacements, high-flow performance options, and E85-compatible pumps.
✅ Fuel Filter:
Protects your engine by filtering out dirt and debris.
✅ Fuel Pressure Regulator:
Controls the pressure of the fuel going into your engine. A must-have for tuned or boosted builds.
✅ Fuel Injectors:
Spray fuel into the engine with precision. If you’re running more power, don’t overlook injector flow rate.
✅ Fuel Pump Strainer / Sock:
Your first line of defense against tank debris — it attaches to your fuel pump inside the tank.
✅ Fuel Rail:
Delivers fuel to each injector evenly. Performance builds often benefit from upgraded fuel rails for increased flow.
✅ Fuel Lines:
The arteries of your system. Make sure your lines can handle the fuel type and pressure you're working with.
✅ Fuel Sending Unit:
Communicates your fuel level to the gauge in your dash — if your fuel gauge is reading wrong, this could be why.
✅ Vent Hoses / V***r Canisters / EVAP:
These emissions components safely manage fuel vapors.

How to Tell If Your Fuel Pump Is Bad:
Common Signs and Symptoms

Fuel delivery issues are one of the most commonly misdiagnosed problems in powersports, marine, and automotive performance applications. At Quantum Fuel Systems, we’ve helped thousands of customers, from weekend DIYers to full-time technicians, to identify and resolve fuel system problems quickly and correctly.

Here are just a few symptoms that often point to a failing fuel pump:
- Hard starts or extended cranking
- Sudden power loss at wide-open throttle
- Jerky acceleration or hesitation under load
- Sputtering at high speeds or under heavy throttle
- Unusual whining noise from the fuel tank
- Inconsistent fuel pressure or poor mileage

While many of these issues can seem electrical or ignition-related, they’re often tied directly to a weakening or clogged fuel pump.
