🌟Employee Spotlight: Dave Knepper
Role: Ummm...in my years here, I have come accustomed to realizing that your role is to do whatever needs to be done on any different day. I have in some way or another played that role successfully since 2002. I was hired as a CAD draftsman...I guess I still am...? Technically 😉
Time with the company: 24 years
🖊️ Daily Tasks: Oversee day to day office operations, years of experience allows to help guide, train and help the company grow in the future. Team member of new and existing software and systems in the continued streamlining of the company. Sales, manufacturing, dealer support. Responsible for all non commercial K Building CAD drawings, manufacturing drawings, grain set-up drawings.
🔩 What is a K Building upgrade you think is worth it that people should know? Changing the girts to 2ft on center, creating a cavity that standard 24" batt insulation can easily be installed in without any additional framing. Also upgrading to 2"x8" purlins over 2"x6" for additional depth for increased R Value
⚫ Team overhang or no overhang - Definitely overhang
☕ Coffee or energy drinks - Hot black coffee...I will say though, the occasional Hot Mocha Latte is pretty great!
🌅 Early bird or night owl - Night Owl...except the day before leaving on vacation...😎
🏕️ Hobbies - Dirt Track Racing & NFL Football junkie...I love to attend both live / or watch live on TV. I love to travel and explore new places with my wife. I love to have gatherings and do things with family and friends. I love to camp and be outside.
🎵 What’s usually playing while working: - Anything besides new Pop Country...mostly Hard Rock, Hair Bands, Outlaw Country (Van Halen & CLUTCH...are my two favorite bands, with a little Waylon sprinkled in)
🏈 Favorite sports team - Cleveland Browns "Wait til next year", Cincinnati Reds, Ohio State Buckeyes
🍹Favorite drink - An ice cold draft IPA beer or a pour of bourbon (neat).
Dave has poured his heart and soul into Elgin Service Center for the past 24 years. He's always thinking ahead, looking for ways to improve our company and help us grow.
Being with us since 2002, Dave has become a familiar face to just about everyone who walks through our doors. His dedication, knowledge, and commitment have helped shape who we are today.
