Northlake Steel Corporation Cold Finished Steel Bar Products & Processing. TGP, CD, CPO, IH-CP, Linear Shafting. Up to 16" Diameter x 75' Long. Carbon, Alloy, & Stainless Steel.

Northlake Steel Corporation started in 1977 as a 10,000 square foot facility in Mentor, Ohio with a handful of machines and operators producing turned, ground and polished steel shafting. In 1979, Northlake relocated to a 40,000 square foot facility in Valley View, OH. Additional equipment was purchased and bar turning and induction hardening capabilities were added to complement the existing serv

ices. In 1995 Northlake Steel moved to an 82,000 square foot facility for manufacturing cold finished steel shafting in Valley City, OH. An additional 45,000 square feet added in 2013 improved manufacturing efficiencies and allowed for additional equipment to be installed. Northlake Steel has changed over the years, but continues to maintain a commitment to on time delivery of world-class products and services.

Northlake Steel had a great time hosting students from Valley City Engineering & Manufacturing Exploring group last night!! Students got a full tour of our shop along with two machines being run for them and explained in depth. Students also got to get hands on with some real tools of our trade. We will be going over what we do at Northlake Steel, the cold finishing process, and what our bars are used for throughout the country. Students will also get the opportunity to measure bar tolerances with real tools of the trade as well as get an in-depth tour of the shop and breakdown of what each of our machines does.

Don’t forget to bring your passports! Students who attended all 4 summer events will receive their gift card.

Happy Retirement Don!

It is with a mix of joy and sadness that we announce the retirement of our esteemed colleague and dear friend, Mr. Don Krug. After 18 years of exemplary service with Northlake, Don has decided to embark on a well-deserved journey of rest and relaxation. We want to take this moment to reflect on his incredible contributions, celebrate his amazing successes, and express our heartfelt gratitude.

Don grew up in the Cleveland area and started working jobs as a teenager. It didn’t take long until he landed in the steel business. He jumped in with both feet starting on the shop floor, learning material handling and how to move steel around safely. He was so adept at it, that it wasn’t long before he was running machines, including steel bar turners, centerless grinders, and straighteners. From there it was a natural fit to transition into production supervisory roles, and then to the office as sales, VP and more.

Don joined the sales team at Northlake in 2006 after working decades in the steel business, bringing with him a passion for the industry and a commitment to excellence that has been an inspiration to us all. Throughout his tenure at Northlake, he has not only been a top achiever, but also a mentor, a guide, and a friend to many. His deep knowledge of the steel industry, his ability to forge strong relationships, and his relentless pursuit of customer satisfaction have been instrumental in driving his incredible success.

Don's contributions extend far beyond his sales achievements. He has been a pillar of our team, always ready with a smile, a word of encouragement, a helping hand, or an aptly timed joke to calm the nerves. His wit and humor have diffused many a tense situation and have brightened the day of those in need.

As you move into this new chapter of your life Don, we hope you take with you the knowledge that during your 50+ years in the steel business, you have made a profound difference in the lives of your colleagues, clients, and the industry as a whole. While we will miss your presence, expertise, and all your interesting stories, we are excited for you to enjoy the rewards of your hard work and dedication. May this time be filled with new adventures, relaxation, and cherished moments with loved ones.
