As the Spindle Turns today, we have been busy adding even more equipment to our facility. 2 Haas VF4 and a SL20 will go nicely with the other equipment we currently have. This past month on "As The Spindle Turns" here, at Axis Solutions LLC., we have been working on a wax injection mold made of 7075 aluminum. This project is now in the final stages of finish-cuts and fitments. We are super excited that all the guys here have got this tool look so good. All of this was performed on a 3 axis mill. Our programmer and our machinists did a outstanding job with .0625 endmills over 15x and a few 20x depth on this. The pictures do this no justice, guys. So today on “As the spindle turns” we have the clearance is clearance game with 1.25 full DOC doing a slot in 1018 mild steel with a FeRex roughing 1/2” cutter.

I’m telling you guys if you have not heard or used Data Flute Tooling it’s a true game changer the FeRex just eats metal like nothing I have seen or pushed before. I would almost bet the farm on this tool for getting after it. And the SSI7 tooling they have will make 316 and 304SS cut super simple.

As The Spindle Turns today it was more like not turn and let’s broach. Everyone likes to say clearance is clearance but when your going 400ipm straight down 5” for this 1” wide Keyway everything counts.
