Our laser can cut up 3/4" steel as well as cutting stainless, aluminum, copper and alloyed steels.

Empire Steel Innovations (ESi, Inc.) part of the Empire Recycling Family of Companies, is seeking a Welder to join our team!

The Certified Welder will use specialized equipment to weld and assemble new metal forms. Responsibilities include the manufacture and fabrication of finished metal products, installation and repair various components and equipment, read steel prints, follow blueprints to meet product specifications, calculate material measurements to verify specifications, conduct tests to evaluate weld quality and tolerance, and must follow all company and OSHA policies to ensure a safe working environment.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in welding, manufacturing or other related fields, familiarity with welding tools, procedures, engineering blueprints and schematics, and the ability to handle physical workload.

Empire Steel Innovations is a full-service steel fabrication and service center serving most of Upstate, New York from its headquarters in Utica. Our modern shop includes state-of-the-art equipment including a laser cutter. ESi works with contractors as well as the general public, and is a proud member of AISC, the American Institute of Steel Construction. ESi is part of the Empire Recycling Family of Companies, with a rich history dating back more than 100 years.

Empire Steel Innovations is looking to add a full time Structural Steel Detailer to their team. The ideal candidate will be able to read and interpret architectural plans use Autodesk, inventor and AutoCAD for shop drawings, and use their knowledge of fabrication on projects. They will also help coordinate project materials with multiple departments and work with contractors, architects and installers to coordinate drawings.

Minimum Requirements: Associate Degree Drafting or Engineering. Must have a minimum of 1 years of experience in a Detailing/Civil engineering role. Must have strong knowledge of AutoCAD, Autodesk and Inventor software. Must have strong oral, written, and interpersonal skills. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to collaborate with team members on projects. Must have Knowledge of building construction materials and methods.
