Temple Ice Owls Spotlight: “Lutzy”

There is perhaps nothing that frightens opposing defensemen more than the footsteps of Owls forward Eddie Lutz. The junior from Jersey is entering his third year with the team and is looking to build on his gumptious style of play. On the ice, he uses his large frame to initiate physicality and help the Owls win as many puck battles as possible. Away from the rink, Lutz can be found in the kitchent channeling his inner Gordon Ramsay.

The Trouble with Roof Corners

This wall transition had splitting asphalt membrane, dried and cracking roof cement and exposed scrim. Because it is near a drain and catches water running down the wall, this detail is under more stress than other areas of the roof.

That is why corner flashing repairs matter. Both interior and exterior corners can concentrate water, collect debris and create an opportunity for water to work behind a failing roof-to-wall transition.

We use Del-Val 211 Flashing Cement to reseal the corner, work material into the cracks and help make the detail watertight again.

The Trouble with Roof Corners

This asphalt roof corner is splitting, the old roof cement is dried out and the scrim is showing. Add water running down the wall, a nearby drain and ponding water at the transition, and you have one of the most vulnerable details on the roof.

Interior and exterior corners require extra attention because water can concentrate, sit and find its way behind cracked flashing.

We come back with Del-Val 211 Flashing Cement to reseal the entire corner and tighten up the detail before water gets in.
