Turning a meaningful stone into a lasting memorial. This textured stone once held a special place in the family’s yard. Wanting to preserve its sentimental value, the customer chose to transform it into a personalized home remembrance memorial. Follow the step-by-step process, from applying Rayzist’s SR2000 6 mil film to Sandcarving. A beautiful example of how Sandcarving can transform a meaningful stone into a lasting tribute.

Heat was applied to the stone surface to remove any moisture. Heat will help the mask to bond to the texture surface.

A squeegee was used to secure the Photomask to the stone surface.

The clear liner was removed, exposing the Photomask.

Rayzist’s Stone Brush was used to press Photomask in dips and grooves.

The Rayzist’s Stone Brush was used to secure the Photomask tight to the stone surface avoiding air traveling underneath the letter that could potentially cause the mask to lift up.

Sandblasted the memorial Stone in Rayzist’s 2034VXA Sandcarving System at a 90° angle. The blasting pressure was set at 50 psi using silicon carbide 120 grit abrasive.

Stone Tone Paint was applied in light coats.

The Photomask was removed after the paint was dry.

A razor was used to scrape off any remaining mask material.

Typically, thin lines are not used on such a textured surface. SR2000 6mil Photoresist Film held the detail for this design.
