Important: Florida Division – Hurricane Milton - Plant Reopening 10/15/2024

We're happy to announce that the Florida plant will reopen on Tuesday, 10/15/2024! Full power has been restored to the plant, and all areas of the plant and equipment are functional.

We are sending a quick Paylocity survey to update your current situation. Do you have any hurricane-related issues (food, lodging, gas, etc.)? Continued disruption to power, internet, transportation?

Additionally, see the comprehensive list of resources in yesterday's Paylocity Community post. The resources can help assist you and your families with recovering from the impacts of the storm.

FEMA Disaster Assistance
As of Friday, Oct. 11, area residents are now eligible for Disaster Assistance through the Federal Emergency Management Department (FEMA). Residents affected by Hurricane Milton can receive an immediate payment to accommodate for needs such as medicine, diapers, temporary housing, gas, food, and water.
Residents can apply online at disasterassistance.gov, or by calling 800.621.3362.

Employees are encouraged to communicate with their supervisors/leads.

As hurricane season continues, EMI urges all employees to ensure their contact information in Paylocity is up to date to receive emergency alerts from EMI. Numbers entered in the “Personal Mobile” field in the “Personal” section will be used for emergency voice and text messages.

IMPORTANT UPDATE REGARDING FLORIDA PLANT OPERATIONS due to Hurricane Milton:

Due to a lack of full power, the Florida plant will remain closed on Monday, October 14th. We are continuing to work with Teco on the power situation and will update again on Monday for Tuesday operations.

If you haven't already done so, please complete the Paylocity survey and let us know if you've been impacted and if you need assistance.

Employees who are having concerns or anxiety related to the weather or who are in emotional crisis can contact EMI’s virtual counseling for assistance. Employees and their dependents can receive free, confidential assistance anytime 24/7 by calling 888-691-7867.

Also, Florida 2-1-1 (dial 2-1-1 from your phone) is a free, confidential service that connects you with local community-based organizations across the state offering thousands of programs and services for people seeking answers. Assistance with community resource navigation, crisis and su***de intervention, mental health referrals, disaster information, and more.

EMI's Florida Division to reopen on Monday, 10/14/2024

It’s been a long couple of days with a few more to come.

The plant has power and debris is being cleared. (Thank you, Robert and team!)

The Florida plant will reopen on Monday, October 14 at the regular time to allow everyone to focus on your families, your residences, and your neighbors through the weekend. Avoid any unnecessary travel so crews can clear the roads and restore utility services sooner if they can move about freely.

For those of you returning from mandatory evacuation, please heed the warnings of local officials. Local rivers, streams and canals may be impacted by the storm. Safe travels home!

Important: Hurricane Milton: Florida Plant Operations

Hurricane Milton is moving through the Gulf of Mexico. Based on the current track and forecast, EMI’s Florida plant will observe the following schedule:

~ Wednesday, 10/9/2024: Florida Division is closed.
~ [NEW] Thursday, 10/10/2024: Florida Division will be CLOSED.
~ [NEW] Friday, 10/11/2024: Anticipate Florida Division will be OPEN.
~ [NEW] Saturday, 10/12/2024: Florida Division will be OPEN.

The only change to our planned opening on Friday and Saturday is if there is a significant change in the forecast that would place Tampa into a problem status or if the power is out in the plant.

If conditions at the plant do not permit us opening at 5:00am on Friday, we will post an update on our message platforms on Thursday evening.

We want to make every reasonable effort, under the circumstances, to provide our employees with a safe and healthy work environment.

Our thoughts and prayers are with those in Milton’s path. Be safe!
