Warning: Long post alert! 🤪
I wanted to take a minute to share a HUGE post of appreciation. This past week was filled with exhaustion, a few stressful moments, SO much gratitude, and a whole lot of reminders of why we are doing this. ❤️
It started off a little rough when we unfortunately had to take one of our alpacas to UT for a blood transfusion. Thankfully, the transfusion went amazingly well, and we are so grateful for our local veterinarians, the incredible team at UT, and the many mentors who are always willing to help guide us when we need it most.
We’re also incredibly thankful for the friends and family who drop whatever they’re doing to help with the kids, lend a hand, or simply show up when we need them. ❤️
And after a very long night (including a 2:50 a.m. wake-up when I decided that was the perfect time to go do inventory in the farm store 😂), we moved on to our second—and by FAR our largest—field trip yet!
53 KINDERGARTNERS and 52 chaperones! 🤯
And it went AMAZING! All because I had an incredible group of friends and family helping throughout the day. I truly could not do this without them.
Then Friday morning, we welcomed more than 40 moms and their kiddos from the JC Mom Walk Collective before spending the rest of the day preparing for our very first National Alpaca Farm Days at The Holmestead.
And Saturday… was just PERFECT. Perfect weather, perfect company, and such a fun day celebrating these animals and everything we’ve been working so hard to build here. 🦙❤️
This dream of creating a place where our community can gather, spend time with animals, learn about farm life, and simply make memories together is finally starting to feel REAL.
Starting something completely new is a HUGE risk, and there have definitely been moments when I’ve wondered if we were crazy for doing this. 😂 But weeks like this remind me exactly why we did.
I am beyond appreciative of every single person who has visited The Holmestead, brought their kids, attended an event, bought something from the market, shared a post, liked a picture, told a friend about us, or simply cheered us on from the sidelines.
Every single one of those things matters more than you probably realize. ❤️
So please, keep sharing, keep telling your friends, and keep praying for this little dream of ours. 🙏
We have SO many fun things coming up, and YOU are the reason we are able to keep growing, adding new experiences, and creating a place we hope will become a special part of our community.
Thank you. Truly. 🥹❤️
