Clearly I have not explained my profession to Harper very well. Prior to the video, she said engineers build things. I explained that engineers don’t necessarily build the things but we design the things. And then I explained that we are simply problem solvers. In her 10 year old mind - bugs in the pool are her biggest problems. Mom gets the bugs out of the pool. Mom is a professional engineer. Therefore, professional engineers must get bugs out of pools…
And there you have it folks! Happy PE day to all my fellow bug removal professionals. 🤷‍♀️

MoDOT will hold a public meeting from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6 to discuss improvements to the intersection of Route 25 and Route K in Gordonville. The meeting will be held at Gordonville Elementary School, located at 653 Route Z in Cape Girardeau.

The project includes constructing a roundabout at the intersection of Route 25 and Route K.

“We conducted a study to examine installing a traffic signal or constructing a roundabout in this location,” said MoDOT Project Manager Tim Pickett. “Through the study, the preferred alternate was to construct a roundabout. The proposed roundabout will help traffic flow efficiently and will result in fewer delays during non-peak hours.”

Visitors can stop-by anytime between 4 and 7 p.m. to discuss the details of the project with the MoDOT project team.

The project is expected to be let in May 2023, with construction beginning as early as summer 2023. Construction will be staged to allow the area to remain open with minor, short-term lane closures as connections are made to the existing pavement. Completion is anticipated in winter 2023.
