When there’s not a tool available, make it!! N55 powered F30 BMW with a hard to find oil getting in coolant(1 teaspoon every 500 miles or so).

Don’t want to change your cabin filter like we recommend, will make more money changing your evaporator core if you don’t…. These leaves are acidic and created a chemical reaction with the aluminum evaporator core and made it leak. Maintenance is essential, just do it.

Early morning trolley jack repair….leaking hydraulic cylinder. May as well just tear it down and check everything. Then since they’re almost probably used equally, do the other one next.

If you don’t at first succeed, try, try again. You’ll learn lots through your mistakes. Project: make an accessory to go with my valve depressor to push down the rocker arm by the eccentric. On the older BMWs the camshaft is supposed to be removed first, but there must be no spring pressure of the valves exerted to it. I was trying to use an old swaybar to make the tool and it should’ve been annealed first. So I used some 12L14 that I had with much better results. What did I learn? I now have bookmarks with a bunch of specifications for different alloys with how hard they are. I also made a spreadsheet for multiple formulas that gives me feeds and speeds to keep from burning up bits. Also got me a new chemistry and physics book on the shelf.
