Located in the heart of the Swannanoa Valley, Rock the Quarry 5K is a run with a mission to bring the community together to celebrate good health and the beautiful Western North Carolina environment. All proceeds from the event benefit Grove Stone’s neighbor, the Black Mountain Home for Children, and long-time partner, the Asheville Museum of Science (AMOS). In honor of their milestone anniversary, we're changing up the 5k course to incorporate their beautiful campus. Runners will start at their pavilion, run over their covered bridge before crossing over to Grove Stone's property where runners will experience the huge equipment it takes to break a boulder down to smaller stone used in the construction industry. The race will finish by crossing back thru the Black Mountain Home's farm area and then back to the pavilion. Packet pick-up will be the morning of the race from 8:00am - until the race start at the Black Mountain Home's pavilion. Be sure to arrive early so you won't be rushed! The Kids Fun Run doesn't require a bib and the kids will receive their headband at the finish line. Prizes for the event will be broken down into Men's and Women's Categories. Overall winners will receive: 1st place receiving $100, 2nd place receiving $50, and 3rd receiving a gift card to Mountain Running. All top runners in each age group will win a Rock the Quarry hat. Guaranteed Shirt Deadline is 8/31/2023!
* Although the guaranteed shirt deadline has passed, we ordered 150 extra shirts and if your size is offered during the registration process, you're good!
