On August 19, Fire Lieutenant Johnny Owens and EMT/Firefighter Zach Petry of Baltimore County Fire Department Truck 5 entered a burning home in Lansdowne, Maryland, with reports of someone trapped inside.

Equipped with a Bullard NXT® Pro Thermal Imager, they located and rescued a victim from a second-floor bathroom, just feet from a fully involved bedroom. EMS restored the victim's pulse at the scene.

On September 10, the victim was released from the hospital and is continuing rehabilitation.

We're proud to recognize Lt. Owens and Firefighter/EMT Petry through Bullard's Save a Life Club for their courage, quick action, and commitment to the people they serve.

When Chief James Richey’s Bullard fire helmet took a direct hit from a runaway hose nozzle during an apartment fire, it was an experience he wouldn’t soon forget. Afterward, he reached out to Bullard to share his story. What followed was more than a conversation about a helmet. It was an opportunity to meet the people behind the gear he trusted on the job.

For us, that connection matters. Every helmet we make has a person counting on it, and every experience like Chief Richey’s helps reinforce why we do what we do.

When Chief James Richey came to Bullard, he expected to learn a little more about the helmet that helped save his life. What he didn't expect was how personal the experience would be. He met the people who make Bullard fire helmets, saw the care that goes into every step of the process, and had the opportunity to share his story with the team whose work helped protect him.

Before Brad became our Global Product Manager for Thermal Imaging, he was a firefighter. He knows what it means to answer the call, make decisions under pressure, and move forward when others are counting on you.
