Milacron is proud to attend the 𝗦𝗣𝗘 𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗢𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗼𝗽𝗖𝗼𝗻 event, kicking off today in Montreal.

Hosted by the SPE: Inspiring Plastics Professionals Extrusion Division, this premier event brings together industry experts to focus on optimizing extrusion processes, including enhancing product quality, improving throughput, and driving more consistent, efficient operations.

Our extrusion subject matter experts are on site this week to both present and collaborate with peers across the industry through sharing insights, tackling real-world processing challenges, and gaining fresh perspectives on advancing extrusion technologies. We’re especially excited to see our own expertise represented in the program, contributing to key conversations around optimizing twin-screw extrusion performance and equipment selection.

Events like TopCon are where the future of plastics processing takes shape through knowledge sharing, innovation, and strong industry connections.

If you’re in Montreal, we’d love to connect this week.

Last week, we had the opportunity to deliver Part 2 of our Custom Processing II: Process Optimization & Troubleshooting training for the team at STIHL in Virginia Beach, VA.

Just two weeks prior, we were on-site leading the Processing I session. It’s been exciting to see the momentum continue. Even better, STIHL has already invited us back this September for another 3-day session!

This advanced course is focused on one key goal: “Improve the Process.”

By reducing cycle time and scrap rate, we help teams unlock greater efficiency, consistency, and part quality.

Throughout the session, we covered:
✅ Machine setup, processing techniques, and equipment capabilities
✅Temperature control and cooling rate fundamentals
✅Tooling and setup considerations for optimal performance
✅Cavity fill rate, transfer, pack & hold strategies
✅Shot size and cushion control
✅Plastic material characteristics and behavior
✅Process diagnostics, defect troubleshooting, and root cause analysis
✅Evaluating shot traces, process monitoring, and SPC

A big thank you to the STIHL team for their engagement and commitment to continuous improvement. We’re looking forward to building on this partnership in September!

One of our customers faced exactly that challenge after changing machines.

Instead of writing off the investment, they partnered with Milacron.

Our Atlanta screw & barrel team re-engineered the component, converting a DS tapered shank to a straight shank by removing the existing shank and bearing and installing a new configuration. The result turned unused inventory into a production-ready asset.

With Milacron’s nationwide rebuild capabilities, customers can extend component life, adapt to new processes, and avoid the cost of replacement. Every rebuild meets like-new specifications and is backed by an industry-leading warranty.

Let us help you get more from your equipment.

𝗦𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗲 𝗕𝗶𝗴𝗴𝗲𝗿. 𝗠𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝗦𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗿. 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲.

For over 50 years, Milacron’s LPIM technology has led the way in low-pressure injection molding, and the L-Series takes it further.

Designed and purpose built for ultra large, heavy duty and family molded parts, the L-Series uses a rugged clamp, large platen, and modular melt delivery system to run large multi part assemblies in a single cycle. Multi nozzle sequencing allows small, lightweight parts to be molded alongside larger, heavier ones, improving efficiency and reducing labor. With dual injection, families of parts in different colors or resins—such as black valve boxes with green lids—can be produced together. The generous platen area and multi-nozzle system supports the use of multiple molds simultaneously, increasing output compared to conventional injection machines, with a single mold.

💡𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 & 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆:
• Structural foam, structural web parts with high strength-to-weight ratios and superb dimensional stability,
• Process up to 100% recycled flake material,
• Large shot size and high throughput rates to meet the most demanding applications.

🏭 𝗜𝗱𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀:
• Pallets and other large returnable products
• Underground utility vaults and enclosures (telecom and water management)
• Agricultural and warehouse bins
• Commercial and institutional food service and waste management
• ATV-UTV body panels
• Heavy truck parts
• Custom ultra-large, molded parts (not possible with typical injection molding)

The L-Series delivers the capacity for demanding, high value applications—from infrastructure to industrial storage—and the flexibility to run complex parts and family molded assemblies. It is engineered to maximize output per capital dollar, optimize cycle times, reduce labor, and boost OEE.

The shift from reactive to predictive maintenance isn’t just a trend—it’s a transformation.

For years, plastics processors relied on a “run-till-it-breaks” mindset. But as highlighted in Plastics Machinery & Manufacturing, that approach is quickly giving way to smarter, data-driven strategies powered by connectivity, analytics, and AI.

Predictive maintenance isn’t just about preventing breakdowns. It’s about:
✅ Improving overall equipment reliability
✅ Reducing costly, unplanned downtime
✅ Optimizing maintenance intervals based on real machine conditions
✅ Empowering teams with actionable insights—not just data

With connected technologies and advanced monitoring, processors can move from reacting to problems, to preventing them entirely.

At Milacron, we’re committed to helping our customers make that shift. We’re turning machine data into real-world performance gains and long-term operational resilience.

Today, Milacron associates came together at our corporate headquarters in Ohio for one of our favorite traditions — the annual company picnic.

From a delicious buffet lunch catered by City Barbeque to friendly competition with co****le and toilet seat races, a health fair that included a blood drive, and a visit from the Bluebird Bus of Hope, the day was filled with great food, fun, and even better company.

A special thank you to the Milacron Employee Engagement Committee for organizing such a fantastic day and creating an opportunity for associates to connect.

At Milacron, our people have always been at the heart of our legacy. Moments like these remind us of the culture that has defined our company for decades, and the importance of continuing to invest in opportunities to reconnect and strengthen that sense of community.
