Castle USA Castle, Inc. is an American woodworking machinery manufacturer that has championed the cause of the entrepreneurial woodworker since 1985.

manufactures low angle Pocket cutting machinery and assembly tables, used in the wood working industry. Founded in 1985 with one model, our product line has expanded to 5 pocket cutters and assembly tables that can accommodate a variety of sizing needs. Our machinery is ideal for a wide range of environments, from the TSM-12, for the hobbyist/light user, all the way up to CSI1.5D, tailored to a production line using 500K pocket screws or more a year. Castle machines are made in Petaluma, California and are manufactured to the highest standards using local vendors wherever possible.

Retro Q&A! Why does the old Porter Cable 552 benchtop pocket machine look so much like the Castle TSM-12?
About 25 years ago, Castle made a model known as the TSM-10 benchtop pocket machine. In the early 2000s, Castle licensed the design to Porter Cable, and they produced the model 552 for several years. After the licensing agreement ended, Castle produced the TSM-11 — still with the same Porter Cable routers installed. In mid-2014, the machine switched to Bosch routers and became what we know today as the Castle TSM-12. Same DNA, 25 years of refinement. Still running your 552? Tell us in the comments. What makes the Castle Pocket special? The Castle Low Angle Pocket minimizes joint shift that has plagued drilled pocket hole users for years. This low angle also positions the screw more centered in the workpiece which virtually eliminates splitting and makes the joint much stronger. Our commercial machines including the TSM-12, TSM-22, TSM-30 Series, and the CSI 1.5D make 6° pockets while the portable Castle 110 makes a 3° pocket.
